We are excited to kick off 2026 with our first round of grants. Most of these grants are to organizations we have supported for a long time because we believe strongly in their missions and they are doing a great job. We welcome one new organization to the Harriette's Dream family: Paws Forward Foundation. We expect to see great things from them as they start helping veterans and first responders.
We focus on non-profits who fit into one of 3 critical mission areas:
Helping people in need; Helping animals in need; and fostering the human-animal bond.

You can help Harriette's Dream continue making grants by donating to the fund through the Arkansas Community Foundation. ARCF is a non-profit organization and your donation may be tax deductible. Consult with your tax advisor.
Helping People
Saving Grace provides a home for young women aging out of foster care or facing homelessness, offering them hope and transformation through relationships, coaching, and opportunities that empower generational change—trusting God with the outcome.
This year, they opened Grace House, a new residential building that will enable them to double the number of young women in residence.

Sheep Dogs Impact Assistance is dedicated to serving military veterans and first responders – our nation’s protectors and rescuers, our “Sheep Dogs.” Through SDIA's "Get Off The Couch™" programming, Sheep Dogs who have experienced trauma come together to turn trauma into triumph.
SDIA programs are always free to the Sheep Dogs, so funding for the programs comes from donors and other sources. Entities such as the VA help cover costs for veterans, but there are far fewer resources to help first responders, and their need is just as great. In 2026, our grant will help ensure that first responders are able to participate in Outdoor Adventures and Warrior PATHH alongside our veterans.
Teachers today spend an average of $500 out of pocket on their classrooms each year. Charles Best, a teacher himself, figured there were people who'd want to help if they could see where their money was going. In 2000, he founded DonorsChoose, a website where teachers can post requests for classroom resources, and people can decide which ones they would like to support. Since then, over 6 million citizen donors have contributed over $1.7 million to support requests from teachers. Harriette’s Dream will focus on fulfilling requests from Arkansas teachers, with an emphasis on low-income schools.

Helping Animals
Turpentine Creek's mission is to provide lifetime refuge for abused and neglected “Big Cats” with emphasis on tigers, lions, leopards, and cougars. Their core belief is that big cats are predators, not pets or entertainment for the masses. They and other exotic and native wildlife deserve to live out their lives with dignity, allowed to be the wild animals they instinctually are. Turpentine Creek gives them a voice, both for those forced to live in captivity and those struggling for survival in the wild.
Fostering the Human - Animal Bond
Paws Forward Foundation was founded on a simple truth — no veteran should fight a silent war alone. Their mission is to restore independence and dignity through elite, medical-grade service dogs trained with discipline, precision, and compassion.
This is their first year in operation and they are now accepting applications for their next class of service dogs. They serve those carrying invisible wounds and physical injuries alike — building life-saving partnerships between healer and hero.

Mission K9 is dedicated to rescuing dogs who have faithfully served our country in military or law enforcement roles and providing them with the retirement they deserve. When possible, retired dogs are reunited with their handler. Otherwise, they are adopted into loving homes. Dogs receive the veterinary and rehabilitation care they need prior to adoption.
This year, Mission K9 is continuing to work on the largest rescue in their history: 49 explosive and bomb detection dogs in Kuwait. The war in Iran has had a major impact on this record, but to date, 19 dogs have been brought home. More will be coming soon.
Branded Equine provides Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy to individuals of all ages and incorporates equine assisted therapies to increase the physical and emotional benefits of these therapies. In Operation Branded, veterans and first responders work with wild mustangs to create mutual connection and healing.
In 2026, they are building an indoor arena that will enable them to continue their work year-round and in all types of weather. This will be a tremendous change, benefitting everyone they serve.
